Considerations
- Issuing or distributing a stablecoin can be a regulated activity that varies significantly by jurisdiction (e.g. MiCA, US state and federal frameworks).
- Do not assume a company in an issuance segment is the legal issuer of a given asset — confirm the issuing entity and reserve model directly.
- Banking, custody and network choices each carry distinct obligations.
Questions to ask providers
- Who is the legal issuer and what backs the reserves?
- Which jurisdictions and frameworks apply to issuance and distribution?
- How are minting, redemption and attestations governed?
